Vox-Pop
The term "vox pop" comes from the Latin phrase vox
populi, which means "voice of the people". The vox pop is a tool used
in many forms of media to provide the views of the public. It is popular
opinions represented by informal comments from the public.
Random people are
asked to give their opinions on a particular topic and the responses are
presented to the viewer/audience as a reflection of popular opinion. Vox pops
are used to get an understanding of the public about a certain subject.
For video and television, the interviewer approaches people
"in the street" and asks them questions about the topic.
You can do your own vox pop by simply just asking questions
about a certain topic to the public.
